In this course, you will be developing a Learning Unit which will culminate in Module 5. The first step in this process is to develop learning goals. Create a grade/age appropriate learning goal for each of the following: literacy, speech/language, and social/emotional development. List each goal. Describe what you expect the student will know and be able to do by the end of the unit. Describe your engagement strategies that will be utilized to achieve the learning goals. Identify the aligning standards for each learning goal. For this assignment, use the Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards for your students’ age group found at .tn.gov/education/ci/earlychildhood/index.shtml”>http://www.tn.gov/education/ci/earlychildhood/index.shtml. If you are working with pre-schoolers, you may also wish to refer to your state’s standards as some states have learning standards for pre-schoolers. If your state does not have standards for students aged 3 to 5, refer to the Ohio Early Learning Developmental Standards.
