- Student Instructions For each assignment, you will use the M.U.S.E. link to complete the lab. Access the M.U.S.E. by clicking on Learning Materials. https://class.aiu-online.com/_layouts/MUSEViewer/MUSE.aspx?mid=3319400 In this lab, you will determine how an invasive species—the zebra and quagga mussel—affects other species in the freshwater lake. Use the animation to help you come up with an answer to the following: Why do you see increases and decreases in the invasive species population? What are the implications associated with these alterations to the ecosystem as a whole? The Effects of Zebra and Quagga Mussels Introduced into a Freshwater Lake As you have learned, population dynamics are caused by the biotic potential of the population and the effects of environmental resistance. When there is minimal environmental resistance impacting a population, it will exhibit a population explosion. One reason for minimal resistance could be factors that no longer regulate a population (e.g., predator decline or resource increases). Another reason for a population explosion is the introduction of an invasive species. Invasive species are species foreign to an ecosystem and are not immediately regulated by the environmental restraints of the particular ecosystem that they invade. This in turn allows their populations to grow seemingly uncontrolled and to displace other indigenous populations. Examples of such an invasive species into North America are dreissenid mussels, commonly known as zebra and quagga mussels. Their introduction into the Great Lakes has caused economic hardship and a reorganization of the ecosystem. This has led, in part, to pollution-causing effects that can be linked to an alga known as Cladophora. Ecosystems are webs of intricately balanced interactions, what happens when a new species is introduced that uses a disproportionate share of the ecosystem’s resources? Using the M.U.S.E. link, review the background information and animation to complete your report. Use the Lab 5 worksheet for assignment instructions and data collection.
- Use the Internet to research the population of your community or town. City-Data, is a great Website to get you started. Identify whether you town is growing or declining. Describe at least one (1) sociological aspect that can be attributed to this change.
- How the clinical question indicates the type of study that will be done (quasi-experimental vs. experimental).
- HEALTHCARE -A recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates
- Select and describe a target population. •Explain common stressors and related health issues for this population. •Select and empirically support three stress management strategies. •Explain why these strategies are appropriate for the target population.
- Identify a Population Group at risk, population of interest, and/or vulnerable population in your community
- PR deals with top 3 media platform has major impact on PR. Give examples( real world examples) for each platform. (creative PR) . provide the reasons why is good or bad for company. 2 。explain the concept of the diminishing mass public . provide 5 reasons with example ( eg. Apple) why they need for PR professional to segment their publics for a successful PR campaign.
- Target Segment Identification and Selection
- target population with a specific health issue and research how social, cultural, and behavior factors of the target population contribute to health outcomes associated with the health issue.
- Consider a research interest within field of study. Please consider your interest area carefully since this assignment is the beginning of your draft precis development. Interests are negative impact of distant learning on engagement, social development and learning theories, stress management techniques for graduate level students, self efficacy theories-http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4029015/. Select four recently published research articles related to your research interest; two quantitative and two qualitative research studies. You may substitute a mixed methods study for one of the qualitative or quantitative studies. Ensure that each of the studies you selected was published in a peer reviewed journal. 4 Literature sources should be retrieved from an academic or scholarly data base like proquest or ebsco host. Develop a synthesized 1,400-to 1,750-literature review in which you compare and contrast the four studies. Consider the following while constructing a logical and critical literature review: •What is already known about the research topic you are interested in? •What is not known about your topic; where is there a gap in the literature? •What further research might be worth pursuing in this area? Format your Literature Review in a manner that is consistent with APA guidelines.
