Save Answer QUESTION 40 3 points The introductory text from Questions 37-39 is repeated below, only the question differs. A study was conducted in New Haven, Connecticut to evaluate the association between total cholesterol and the occurrence of myocardial infarction (heart attack) among those 70 years of age and older. A random sample of all residents of the City of New Haven in this age group who had no prior history of heart disease were recruited to participate in the study. 98% of those asked to participate in the study actually did so, resulting in a study population that was nearly identical to that of New Haven’s as a whole for the targeted age group. As with the New Haven population in this age group, the study population was diverse with respect to race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status. Participants completed a questionnaire and had their blood cholesterol concentration measured. The participants were then followed-up for four years to assess for the occurrence of myocardial infarction. In 60 words or less rate the external validity of this study, justifying your answer.
