In the equation:
YO2=p)2/(p50+pO2)
0.15=p02/(5+pO2)
0.75+0.15pO2=pO2
0.75=0.85 pO2
pO2= 0.88 torr
What happened in the last two steps? Where did the 0.85come out of? What calculation happened that gave 0.85? After that,the same thing with the final 0.88torr? Where did the number comefrom?
We’re trying to find the pO2 for myoglobin when it’s 15%saturated with oxygen. But I’m not asking about that, Ijust want to know about the last two steps of that equation andwhere the numbers came from.
